Since noone has any good ideas, I can share some names that I have got from my collegues:

Most pubs in Dulin just serve Guiness and Smithwicks, so from that perspective Dublin is not the best place to go. Two pubs do however actually brew their own beer: Messrs. Maguire near the Liffey and The Porterhouse in Temple Bar.

Two pubs that should not be missed are:
The Brazen head – Dublins oldest pub from 1198, and the Stag¨s Head – where James Jouce used to go.

Besides that there three other pubs situated close to each other and worth a visit: Doheny & Nesbitts from 14th century, Toner´s – the only pub that WB Yeats ever visited, and O´Donoghues with live Irish music performances – Phil Lynott used to play there in the beginning of his career.
